A Paddle's Guide to the Boundary Waters Canoe Area
Author - Michael E. Duncanson
A 76-page, soft-cover guidebook that gives detailed descriptions of 31 wilderness canoe routes. Each trip description contains precise travel instructions, portage information, fishing information and physical details about each of the lakes on the route. Also noted are history, geography, flora and fauna of the B.W.C.A. Also included is practical information such as what to take on a canoe trip, and what types of foods are best for camping.
NOTE: The rules and regulations have changed since this book was published in 1976. It's always smart to check with a local Boundary Waters Outfitter about the current rules and route info. Some of the entry point locations have changed as well as which portages are now maintained. Still this guide gives a great idea of routes to consider for your next BWCA canoe trip. Happy Paddling!
